Todd Buckingham, PhD
Todd Buckingham, PhD is an exercise physiologist, coach, and endurance athlete with deep expertise in performance science. He earned his doctorate in Exercise Physiology from Michigan State University and has worked with athletes of all levels—performing VO₂max testing, lactate thresholds, sweat analysis, and DEXA scans.
Todd currently works with PTSportsPRO in Grand Rapids, MI and teaches at Grand Valley State University, helping shape the next generation of movement scientists. He also runs his own coaching business, crafting personalized training plans for runners, cyclists, and triathletes.
With features in Runner’s World, CNN, The Today Show, and over 130 media outlets, Todd brings a rare blend of academic rigor, real-world coaching, and elite personal experience. He’s a 19-time national champion and 4-time world champion in triathlon—and yes, he still trains hard and races for fun.
